How to Create a New Custom Letter Wizard Template

  1. On the File menu, click New.

  2. Click the Letters & Faxes tab.

  3. Click to select one of the default letter templates. Under Create New, click Template, and then click OK.

A new document based on the selected template will be opened. The document contains all of the components needed by the Letter Wizard.

  4. Make any necessary changes to the template and styles. Be sure to use the styles that are contained in the template.

NOTE: Several AutoTextList fields in the template list AutoText choices when you hold down CTRL and click the field. Be sure not to delete these fields.

  5. Save the template to the following folder:

          Macintosh HD:Microsoft Office 98:Templates:Letters & Faxes

NOTE: The file name of the new custom letter template must contain the word "Letter" (for example the template name should be something like "Monthly Letter to Mom").

When you start the Letter Wizard, the new template is available.
