WD98: Pleading Wizard Block Quotation Not Justified

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Block Quotation button on the Legal Pleading toolbar, Word does not justify the selected paragraph text.

CAUSE

When you click the Block Quotation button on the Pleading Template toolbar, Word indents the paragraph by 1/2-inch on the left and right and aligns the paragraph at the left indent.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Use the Justify Button

To use the Justify button, follow these steps:

  1. Select the paragraph.

  2. On the Formatting toolbar, click Justify.

Method 2: Use Paragraph Formatting

To use paragraph formatting, follow these steps:

  1. Select the paragraph.

  2. On the Format menu, click Paragraph.

  3. Click the Indents and Spacing tab.

  4. In the Alignment box, click Justified, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article.

Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition allows you to apply a Block Quotation format to a selected paragraph. To do this, click Block Quotation on the Legal Pleading toolbar.

A block quotation is a paragraph of text that is indented from the left and right margins. The text appears to have block form with square left and right edges.
