SUMMARY

Microsoft Word 98 supports conversion to and from a number of non-Word file formats. Word interprets some non-Word formats using built-in converters, and other formats through the use of external converter files.

NOTE: The Value Pack also includes the file "Word 97-98 Converter Installer." This enables Word 5.x and 6.x to open Word 97 for Windows and Word 98 for Macintosh files. The file installs the converter "Word 97-98 Import" and three filters: 68K JPEG Import, 68K Metafile Import, 68K PNG Import.

Unsupported Converters

Microsoft Word 98 does not support converters for exporting to WordPerfect versions 6, 7, or 8.0.

Word 98 does not support converters for importing WordPerfect 2.x or 3.x. You should contact DataViz for the availability of a converter.
