WD98: Switching Between Bullets and Numbers Removes Indents

SYMPTOMS

When you do one of the following, any indentation applied to the paragraph is removed:

  • Apply bullets to an indented and numbered paragraph. 

        -or-
  • Apply numbering to an indented and bulleted paragraph. 

        -or-
  • Remove bullets of an indented and bulleted paragraph. 

        -or-
  • Remove numbering of an indented and bulleted paragraph.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, reapply the indent after you apply or remove the bullets or numbering format.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
