WD98: Unable to Drop Whole Files to Word Document

SYMPTOMS

When you drag an entire file to an open Word document or template, nothing happens. That is, the text of the document is not inserted or embed in the open document.

WORKAROUND

To insert an entire file into an open document, follow these steps:

  1. On the Insert menu, click File.

  2. Select the desired file and click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition.
