Word 5.1: Toolbar Does Not Appear After Installation

SUMMARY

In Word for the Macintosh, the toolbar may be missing if either of the following is true:

  • You are using the Word Commands folder from Word version 5.0 for the Macintosh.

    -or-

  • The toolbar is not installed on your computer because you selected the Custom Installation option when you ran Installer and did not select the Toolbar option.

MORE INFORMATION

To add the toolbar to your Word program, do one or both of the following, as necessary:

  • Use the Word Commands folder created by the Installer program for Word version 5.1. Delete earlier versions of this folder and place the correct Word Commands folder in your Word folder.

    -or-

  • Install the Toolbar Plug-In Module (PIM). If the toolbar is not in your Word Commands folder, run the Installer program and select the Custom Installation option to install the toolbar.

Note: Microsoft recommends that you create a new folder for Word 5.1 and install the full Word 5.1 package, including all installable commands and external converters.
