SYMPTOMS

The following Word commands (installed by Word Assistant) remain available at all times, even when they should be disabled.

   Command Menu
   ------- ----

   Special Paper Insert
   Font Selector Format
   Word Assistant Help Help
   Special Paper Help Help

CAUSE

This happens when you use an add-in (.WLL) file to add a command to a Word 6.0 menu. Word does not allow a .WLL to control menu items other than inserting or deleting them. As a result, all Word Assistant menu items are always available.

MORE INFORMATION

The Font Selector displays properly if started during the use of a modal dialog, but the Font Selector doesn't apply or accept any changes until the modal dialog is closed.

If you invoke Insert Special Paper during the use of a modal dialog, it returns the following error message:

You cannot insert a Special Paper design into
a protected document. If you would like to
insert a Special Paper design into this
document, unprotect the document and try again.

The Help files can be started successfully.
