XL: X Axis Does Not Cross Y Axis Where Specified in 2-D Chart

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, the x axis may cross the y axis at the value 1 even if you specify that it should cross at another point, if the following conditions exist:

NOTE: This behavior does not occur with the 3-D chart.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do the following:

1. Activate the chart by double-clicking it, and then choose Chart Type

   from the Format menu.

2. Under Chart Dimension, select 3-D, and choose OK.

3. From the Format menu, choose 3-D View.

4. Select the Right Angle Axes option (put an X in the box), and type "0"

   (without the quotation marks) for both Elevation and Rotation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
