XL:"Cannot find macrofun.hlp" Referencing Analysis ToolPak-VBA

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel 5.0 for the Macintosh, when the Help button for an Analysis ToolPak Visual Basic for Applications library is referenced from the object browser, the following error message appears:

   Cannot find macrofun.hlp. Please select:

The message appears inside of a Find File dialog box. The Macrofun.hlp is the Microsoft Windows version of this help file. The Macintosh version of this file is called "MS Excel Macro Functions Help."

RESOLUTION

To correct the problem, use either of the following methods:

Method 1

When you receive the "Cannot find macrofun.hlp. Please select: dialog box," click the browse button, and select the "MS Excel Macro Functions Help" file in the Excel 5 folder. If you have moved the file, you may need to look elsewhere on your hard disk.

Method 2

Make an alias for the "MS Excel Macro Function Help" file named "Macrofun.hlp" and keep it in the Excel 5 folder.
