To start an instant messaging conversation, click one of the names shown as available to join in the address list. To turn off all instant messaging so that you do not receive any incoming messages click messenger in the toolbar, click privacy settings, and then click turn off instant messaging. To turn instant messaging back on, click messenger in the toolbar and then click turn on instant messaging. To block instant messaging from individuals in your contact list, click messenger in the toolbar, click privacy settings, and then select blocked for those you wish to block.
