- Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, the Color list in the Fonts dialog box may not be wide enough to display the word "Automatic," which is the default color setting.

MORE INFORMATION

In the Microsoft Visual Basic Programming System, Applications Edition, you can use the Dialogs and Show methods to display built-in dialog boxes. The three Visual Basic functions below will display the Fonts dialog box:

Application.Dialogs(xlDialogFont).Show Application.Dialogs(xlDialogFormatFont).Show Application.Dialogs(xlDialogReplaceFont).Show

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

1. Type the following code into a Module sheet:

   Sub Change_Font()
      If TypeName(ActiveSheet) = "Worksheet" Then
      Application.Dialogs(xlDialogFormatFont).Show
      End If
   End Sub

2. Select a worksheet or macro sheet and run the macro. To run the macro,
   choose Macro from the Tools menu, and select the Change_Font macro and
   then choose Run.

When the Fonts dialog box is displayed, the Color list may not be wide enough to display the word "Automatic." The severity of this condition depends on your screen resolution and video driver.
