XL5: Names Created on Dialog Sheet Not Available Under Go To

ID: Q116152

5.00 WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to :

- Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0

In Microsoft Excel 5.0, you can change the name of an object on a dialog sheet in order to make it easier to reference.

However, named objects on a dialog sheet will have text names as their references (for example, MyButton might refer to "Button 3"). Defined names that have a text string as a reference will not be displayed in the Go To dialog box.

This behavior also applies to named objects on a worksheet.
