SYMPTOMS
========

Wldap32 clients may be unable to set or obtain attribute names that are longer
than 40 characters.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs because there is a hard-coded 40-character limit for
attribute names in Wldap32 included in Windows NT 4.0.

RESOLUTION
==========

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to
correct the problem described in this article and should be applied only to
systems experiencing this specific problem.
