  • Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition

SYMPTOMS

If you use a chart that contains a trendline (polynomial or logarithmic), and you format the trendline to use a dashed line, the trendline may appear distorted.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not change the line style for the trendline in your chart. The default line style, which is a continuous line, does not appear distorted when you use it.

If you already changed the line style for the trendline in your chart, change the line style to a continuous line (instead of the dashed line). To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Select the trendline by clicking it once.

  2. On the Format menu, click Selected Trendline.

  3. Click the Patterns tab. Under Line, click Automatic and then click OK.

NOTE: Changing the line weight has no effect on this problem.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
