Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. To resolve this issue, increase the PPP Maximum Configure and Failure Timeout values in the registry. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe). 2. Locate and then select the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP:MaxConfigure 3. On the Edit menu, click Modify, and then type "20" (without the quotation marks) in the Value Data field. Make sure that Hexadecimal is selected under Base. 4. Click OK. 5. Locate and then select the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP:MaxFailure 6. On the Edit menu, click Modify, and then type "20" (without the quotation marks) in the Value Data field. Make sure that Hexadecimal is selected under Base. 7. Click OK. 8. Quit Registry Editor.
