SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel 98, when you use the Justify command to redistribute text to fill a selected range of cells, the text string may be truncated to 255 characters or less.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

To use the Justify menu command to redistribute text to a selected range of cells, follow these steps:

  1. Select the range of cells that includes the cell with the text string and the blank cells over which you want to justify the text.

For example, if cell A1 contains the text string, and you want to justify the text over cells A1 to A10, select the range A1:A10.

  2. On the Edit menu, point to Fill, and then click Justify.
