The border of the editing screen in Microsoft Word for MS-DOS version
5.0 displays differently when the style bar and the ruler options in
the main menu are set to "yes."

The setting combination

   show style bar: (yes) no
   show ruler: (yes) no

shows the border extending to the left of the ruler.

The setting combination

   show style bar: yes (no)
   show ruler: (yes) no

no border displays to the left of the ruler.

You can use this information to determine if the style bar option is
turned on or off.
