XADM: Access Violation When Using Directory Import to Delete NT

SYMPTOMS

When the directory import function of the Exchange Administrator program is used to delete Windows NT accounts, an access violation occurs.

CAUSE

A wrong parameter is used to call the function GetDomainDescrBySid().

WORKAROUND

To resolve this problem, remove the delete transactions.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Exchange Server version 5.5 A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
