SYMPTOMS
========

When you run Flight Simulator for Windows 95, the sound may crackle or play
intermittently.

CAUSE
=====

This can occur if you have a Packard Bell computer with a Sound III audio card.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, reconfigure the Sound III audio card settings by
following these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click System.

3. Click the Device Manager tab, and then click the View Devices By Type option.

4. Double-click Sound, Video And Game Controllers to expand the branch.

5. Double-click the Sound III device.

6. Click the Settings tab.

7. Click the Fast DMA Playback check box to clear it.

8. Click the Capture check box clear it.

9. Click OK, and then click OK again.

   NOTE: You must shut down Windows, and then restart the computer for these
   changes to take effect.
