You may receive this error message even though your video card does support this resolution, and your resolution and color palette display settings are correct. CAUSE ===== This behavior can occur if an incorrect monitor is selected in the Display tool in Control Panel. RESOLUTION ========== To resolve this behavior, select the correct monitor in the Display tool in Control Panel. To do so, use the following steps: 1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. Double-click Display. 3. On the Settings tab, click Change Display Type. NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2), click Advanced Properties, and if you are using Microsoft Windows 98, click Advanced. 4. Under Monitor, click Change. NOTE: If you are using OSR2 or Windows 98, click the Monitor tab, and then click Change. 5. In the Manufacturers box, click your monitor manufacturer. 6. In the Models box, click your monitor model. 7. Click OK, click Close, and then click OK. 8. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
