SYMPTOMS
========

When you fly in Flight Simulator 2000, textures in the distance may seem to
shimmer or flicker.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if either of the following conditions is true:

 - MIP Mapping is turned off in Flight Simulator 2000.

 - Your video adapter does not support MIP Mapping properly.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, enable MIP Mapping in Flight Simulator 2000. To do this:

1. Start a new flight in Flight Simulator 2000.

2. On the Options menu, point to Settings, and then click Display.

3. Under "Advanced 3D harware options," click to select the "MIP mapping" check
   box, and then click the green CHECK MARK.

If the issue continues to occur, contact your hardware manufacturer to inquire
about how to obtain and install the latest version of the video driver for your
video adapter.

Simulator 2000. When textured scenery in a game disappears into the distance,
MIP-mapping mixes high-detail and low-detail versions of the same texture to
make distant textures appear more natural.
