DOCUMENT:Q184022 04-OCT-2001 [frontpg] TITLE :FP: Changing Size of Text Changes Line Spacing PRODUCT :Word Front Page PROD/VER:MACINTOSH:1.0; WINDOWS:1.1,97 OPER/SYS: KEYWORDS:kbdta ====================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft FrontPage 97 for Windows with Bonus Pack - Microsoft FrontPage for Windows 1.1 - Microsoft FrontPage for the Macintosh, version 1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For a Microsoft FrontPage 2000 version of this article, see Q198156. For a Microsoft FrontPage 98 version of this article, see Q194272. SYMPTOMS ======== If you change the font size of a letter, word, or line of text in a series of lines, the line spacing between the line you are formatting and the one below it will also change. CAUSE ===== This behavior occurs when you change the font size by using the Font dialog box (on the Format menu, click Font) or the Increase Text Size or Decrease Text Size buttons on the Formatting toolbar. It is a function of the user interface. This allows space for character descenders, such as lower case "j", "y", or "g". The line spacing adjusts to accommodate these characters.
