The progress bar will begin at the beginning of the play status bar and then immediately jump to the end without playing the audio clip. In Bookshelf 1994, you may notice that videos play without any failure, but sounds selected in the Gallery do not play even though the Apple CD-Audio player may be able to play music CDs. In The Magic School Bus Explores the Ocean, sound will play in some places of the program but not in other places. RESOLUTION ========== To resolve this problem, obtain RAM Doubler version 1.5.2 or higher from Connectix. NOTE: This problem does not occur in Encarta 1995 for the Macintosh. The following are workarounds to this problem if you do not have access to RAM Doubler version 1.5.2 or higher. Workaround 1 ------------ Disable RAM Doubler by starting your Macintosh while holding down the TILDE key (~). Workaround 2 ------------ If you're running System 7.5, you can disable RAM Doubler by clearing the RAM Doubler box in the Extensions Manager. 1. In the Finder, click the Apple icon to see the Apple menu. 2. Choose Control Panels. 3. Choose Extensions Manager. 4. Scroll down the list of Extensions to RAM Doubler and clear the check box to disable it. 5. Restart your Macintosh. Workaround 3 ------------ Drag the RAM Doubler extension out of the Extensions folder that is located inside the System folder.
