XADM: How to View the Amount of Space Used by Message Retention

SUMMARY

When running Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5, you may want to view the amount of space used by Message Retention. This article explains how to do so.

When running the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program, you can view the amount of space being used by Message Retention by doing the following:

  1. Select Private Information Store properties under the server name you are administrating.
2. After the properties are displayed, select the Mailbox Resources
   property page.
3. Select View Columns. 4. Choose to show the "Deleted Items K" column. Click OK. 5. When you now view the Mailbox Resources tab, you can see the "Deleted
   Items K" column.
