SYMPTOMS
========

When you move the Dynamic Sensor quickly in Microsoft Encarta World Atlas 2000,
your computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if the video driver for your video adapter is outdated.


RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, download and install the latest video driver for your
video adapter from your video adapter manufacturer.

If you already installed the latest video driver for your video adapter, you may
be able to work around this issue by using the following methods.

Reduce Graphics Hardware Acceleration
-------------------------------------

To reduce the graphics hardware acceleration:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click System.

3. On the Performance tab, click Graphics.

4. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None.

5. Click OK, and then click Close.

6. Click Yes to restart the system.

Reduce Screen Resolution and Colors
-----------------------------------

To reduce the screen resolution and colors:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click Display.

3. On the Settings tab, move the Screen Area slider to "640 by 480 pixels".

4. Under Colors, click 256 Colors.

5. Click OK, and then restart the computer.
