Last reviewed: January 27, 1998
Article ID: Q177734
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5

SUMMARY

Some of the advanced features described in the Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 documentation will not be supported until the release of Microsoft Outlook 98. These features will be enabled in a Key Management (KM) Server service pack that is scheduled to be available with Outlook 98.

MORE INFORMATION

The following features are currently not supported:

  • Integration with Microsoft Certification Server that ships with Internet Information Server 4.0.
  • X.509 V3 certificates. The MAPI clients that are available with Exchange Server 5.5 only support X.509 V1 certification.
  • S/MIME algorithm preferences and secure mail format preferences.
  • Certificate Trust Lists. The clients currently available for Exchange Server 5.5 can only trust a single certification authority (your organization's KM Server).
  • Multiple KM Servers per organization. Currently there is no way to establish trusts of multiple certification authorities using certificate trust lists or other mechanisms.

For more information on KM Server and Exchange Server 5.5, please refer to the Readme.doc file located on the Exchange 5.5 Server Setup CD, or visit the Exchange Server Web site, located at http://www.microsoft.com/exchange.
