CAUSE ===== The Pp7trans.dll file that PowerPoint uses to translate files to PowerPoint 4.0 format is not year 2000 compliant. WORKAROUND ========== Method 1: Install a Patch ------------------------- Microsoft has made available a patch that stores dates in the correct format when you save a PowerPoint version 7.0 file in PowerPoint 4.0 format. Once posted, the file is housed on secure servers that prevent any unauthorized changes to the file. Method 2: Use a Four-Digit Date Format -------------------------------------- To work around this behavior, use a date format that formats the year as four digits, such as "Saturday, January 1, 2000."
