SYMPTOMS
========

When you insert, move, or resize a frame or a text box, you may not be able to
place it exactly where you want to position it, either horizontally or
vertically.

CAUSE
=====

The Snap to Grid option is turned on (by default).

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Use the ALT Key
-------------------------

Hold down the ALT key when you insert, move, or resize your frame or text box.

Method 2: Format Your Frame or Text Box
---------------------------------------

1. Click to select your frame or text box.

2. On the Format menu, do one of the following:

    - Click Frame. In the Frame dialog box, make the changes to Size,
      Horizontal, or Vertical that you want, and then click OK.

      NOTE: You can also make a change to how text wraps around your frame.

   -or-

    - Click Text Box. In the Format Text Box dialog box, make the changes to the
      text box that you want on the Size and Position tabs.

   NOTE: You can also make changes that you want to the Color And Lines,
   Wrapping, or Text Box tabs.

Method 3: Turn Off Snap To Grid
-------------------------------

1. On the Drawing toolbar (on the View menu, point to Toolbars and then click
   Drawing), click Draw and then click Grid.

2. In the Snap to Grid dialog box, clear the Snap to Grid check box, and then
   click OK.

"Snap to Grid" is a network of invisible lines that helps you to align drawing
objects on the drawing layer. If the Snap to Grid option is turned on for the
drawing layer, frames inserted on the text layer are also affected. It also
controls cropping a graphic.
