SYMPTOMS

When you shell out to an MS-DOS command prompt and then load a TSR file, the following error message may occur when you try to re-enter the Microsoft Exchange MS-DOS client:

   An unrecoverable error has occured. Press any key to restart your
   computer.

WORKAROUND

Load TSR programs before you run Microsoft Exchange. Do not load TSR programs from within the MS-DOS shell in the Exchange MS-DOS client.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange version 4.0 MS-DOS client. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
