Forward Slash (/) Incorrectly Rejected by IAS Profile Tab

SYMPTOMS

The Internet Authentication Service Properties profile tab allows administrators to add vendor-specific attributes. When you try to add the Ascend-Data-Filter attribute, you are prompted for the attribute value. The correct value should look like the following:

ip in forward dstip 123.123.123.123/22
However, when you type the forward slash (/), the system beeps and will not allow you to enter this character.


CAUSE

The attribute Abinary format is incorrectly prohibiting the forward slash character.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Commercial Internet System service pack.
