Report Writer Shows UAS Request and Visit Inconsistencies

SYMPTOMS

In Report Writer, the number of hits is correct, but the visit count is incorrect. For example, Usage Import Server Manager is configured with one Log Data Source and two servers, each server with one site. Server1 is configured for port 80, and Server2 is configured for port 443, both using the same home page URL and both importing the logs. After a report is generated, visit counts are reported at a lower value than they should be.

CAUSE

Uas.exe visit counting is not being processed properly for Usage Analysis.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Site Server 3.0.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Site Server version 3.0.
