Scheduling an HTML Title Lookup Causes the Job Fail

Microsoft Site Server version 3.0

SYMPTOMS

When a job is scheduled to do title lookups for a Web site, with a filter to exclude directories, the job fails due to the <> operator.

CAUSE

The parser function in the Site Server Import Analysis components interprets the exclude operator <> incorrectly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, apply the latest Site Server 3.0 service pack.

WORKAROUND

Use "=" instead of "<>" (without the quotation marks). NOTE: This is not practical for a large Web site.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. service pack for Microsoft Site Server version 3.0.
