SYMPTOMS

When you run the Microsoft Exchange client for Windows 3.x, Windows 95, or Windows NT, the button for Microsoft Schedule+ is missing from the client toolbar.

This problem could be noticed if Office 95 is installed, with the Schedule+ option selected on a computer that has a previous installation of the version of Schedule+ that ships with Microsoft Exchange.

WORKAROUND

On the Tools menu of the Exchange client, click Customize Toolbar. This brings up the Customize Toolbar dialog box. In the Available Buttons list, check if the icon labeled Show Schedule is present. If it is, select the icon and then click Add. This will move that icon into the Toolbar buttons list. Click Close. The Schedule+ button should now be on the Exchange client toolbar.

If the Show Schedule icon is not in the Available Buttons list in the Customize Toolbar dialog box, you need to follow the steps below:

For Windows 95 and Windows NT clients

  1. Open the Registry Editor.

  2. Go to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Extensions

  3. A. If a value named Schedule+ is not present, add it with the following information:

             Value Name: Schedule+
             Type: REG_SZ
             String: 4.0;C:\EXCHANGE\msspc32.dll;2;01000000000001

C:\EXCHANGE is the location where the Exchange client has been installed on the local computer in the example above.

    B. If a value named Schedule+ does exist, make sure the string and type information is the same as in step 3A.

  4. Exit the Registry Editor.

  5. Make sure the file MSSPC32.DLL is in the Exchange client directory.

  6. Exit and Log out of the Exchange client if it is running.

  7. Log back into the Exchange Client.

  8. If the Schedule+ button is not on the toolbar, from the Tools menu, select Customize Toolbar.

  9. The Show Schedule icon should now be in the Available buttons list. Select it and click Add.

  10. Close the Customize Toolbar dialog box. The Schedule+ button should now be on the toolbar.

For Windows 16-bit clients (Windows 3.x/WFW)

  1. Open the file EXCHNG.INI in the Windows directory in Notepad to edit.

  2. Go to the [Extensions] section.

  3. If an entry named Schedule+ is not present, add the following line to the [Extensions] section:

    Schedule+=4.0;C:\EXCHANGE\msspc16.dll;2;01000000000001

where C:\EXCHANGE is the directory where the Exchange client is installed on the local computer.

  4. If an entry named Schedule+ exists, make sure that it is the same as the entry mentioned in step 3.

  5. Make sure the file MSSPC32.DLL is in the Exchange client directory.

  6. Exit and Log Off the Exchange client if it is running.
