Proxy Client Cannot View External Web Sites

SYMPTOMS

You may not be able to view external Web sites from a computer using Microsoft Proxy Client software on a network connected to the Internet through Microsoft Proxy Server 1.0. Although you can view Web pages located on the Proxy server from a network client, and you can browse the Internet from the Proxy server, you are unable to view external Web pages on a computer using the Proxy Client software.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Proxy server or the network client is configured incorrectly.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, verify that the Proxy server and network clients are configured correctly. To verify that your Proxy server's configuration to properly communicate with both clients and your Internet service provider is correct:

If you check and confirm that the settings listed above are correct but a client still cannot view external Web sites on the Internet, you may want to try basic network troubleshooting.
