SYMPTOMS

Reverse proxying does not work with a single network card.

CAUSE

MORE INFORMATION

Reverse proxying is a feature of Microsoft Proxy Server that enables clients to send requests to a Web publishing server connected behind the Proxy Server computer. You can place your Web server behind the Proxy Server computer to publish to the World Wide Web without compromising the security of the Web server or its data. Proxy Server "impersonates" a Web server to the outside world, while your Web server maintains access to internal network services.

You can run Microsoft Proxy Server on a computer with only a single internal network adapter, such as for a chained-downstream configuration or a caching-only configuration. In this configuration, some functionality such as packet filtering and reverse proxying will be lost.
