BUG: DOCERR: BOL States T-SQL Outer Joins in FROM Clause Support to be Dropped

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft SQL Server Books Online, the second sentence of the second paragraph in the following section states that the ability to specify Transact-SQL outer joins in the FROM clause is not recommended, is no longer documented and will be dropped in future versions.

Specifying Joins in FROM or WHERE Clauses

This is incorrect. The word "FROM" should be replaced with the word "WHERE" in the sentence so it will correctly state that the ability to specify Transact-SQL outer joins in the WHERE clause is not recommended, is no longer documented, and will be dropped in future versions.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 7.0.
