BUG: OLAP: "Object Does not exist" Error Processing Multi-Hierarchy Dimension

SYMPTOMS

When processing a cube or partition where a partition is sliced by a multi-hierarchy level member, an error similar to the following occurs:

Processing Failed:
Object Does not exist 'Qtr;AllTime;1998'
Qtr is the name of one drill-down path of the hierarchy (for example, Time.Qtr).


WORKAROUND

Create a view on the datasource that will limit the data on the partition to the desired subset.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server OLAP Services version 7.0.
