SMS: Too Many USE Statements Are Used to Add Inventory

SUMMARY

When using SQL Trace to view the queries generated by Systems Management Server to add a new computer to the database, there are many USE DBNAME statements. These apparently redundant statements seem unnecessary because we are only using one database for the computer record.

These statements are required, however, to ensure data integrity because Systems Management Server 2.0 has the ability to add information to multiple databases. The overhead from these statements is minimal.

This effect is by design.
