When you attempt to update a task in Microsoft Outlook 98, the following error message may be displayed:

Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values
are not valid.

CAUSE

The Tasks folder is corrupt on the mailbox.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, perform the following steps:

  1. Quit the Outlook client.

  2. Log on to your mailbox using the Exchange Server client (Exchng32.exe).

  3. Delete the Tasks folder from the mailbox.

  4. Restart the Outlook client using the /RESETFOLDERS command-line switch.

The result should be that the Tasks folder has been deleted and recreated. The corrupted task is gone from the tasks folder.
