SUMMARY

This article describes how the Design Form feature can be removed from Microsoft Outlook 8.5 using Regedit or the Outlook Deployment Kit (ODK).

MORE INFORMATION

Two methods are described below for disabling the Design Form feature in Outlook. With the first method, you use the Registry Editor, Regedit, to create a new registry key. The second method is for system administrators creating custom installation packages for Outlook by using the Outlook Deployment Kit (ODK).

When the Outlook Design Form feature is disabled, the following error message appears when you try to design a form:

The form you selected could not be displayed. The Outlook Form Designer
has been made unavailable by your administrator.
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk

For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys And Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it
