XFOR: Migration Wizard Crashes While Importing Data from a GW PO with Subfolders Under Root Folders

SYMPTOMS

The Migration Wizard will crash (with a Dr. Watson error message), while importing user information from a GroupWise post office.


CAUSE

The problem occurs when there is a subfolder(s) under a root folder(s) that contains spaces in the name. The Migration Wizard improperly parses the name of these folder(s) and is unable to put the message belonging to the folder in the proper place.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 service pack that contains this fix.
