XWEB: OWA Stops Responding after Applying Exchange Server 5.5 SP2

SYMPTOMS

After you apply Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, Outlook Web Access (OWA) may stop responding and produce the following Drwtsn32.log:

Application exception occurred:
App: exe\inetinfo.dbg (pid=256)
When: 5/5/1999 @ 11:26:32.523
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

CAUSE

NOTE: The fix needs to be applied on the computer running OWA.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange Server Version 5.5 service pack that contains this fix.
