FIX: Converting 2.6 Label Causes "Report File is Invalid" Error

SYMPTOMS

After converting a FoxPro 2.6 label in Visual FoxPro 6.0, the following error is returned:

Report File is Invalid


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. In FoxPro 2.6, create a label and save it as 26lbl.


  2. Start Visual FoxPro 6.0. In the Command window, issue the following command:

    MODIFY LABEL 26lbl 
    The converter runs and prompts to convert the label. After the conversion, Visual FoxPro tries to open the label. However, the error "Report File is Invalid" appears, and the label file is not opened.
