FIX: Shortcut Menus Limited by Form Size, Have Up/Down Arrows

SYMPTOMS

You have a form which allows display of a shortcut menu (this type of menu is usually displayed via right mouse click and may be referred to as a popup or context menu). If the menu height is greater than the height of the form which displays it, the menu will be limited in size to the height of the form and display scroll arrows at its top and/or bottom.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

  1. Run the following code from a program (.PRG) file:

  3. The menu will appear with arrows at top and bottom of menu. Each arrow will be contained in a white box, and will not respond to mouse clicks. You may close the menu by pressing escape or clicking outside of it, and redisplay it by right-clicking on the form.
