SYMPTOMS
========

Outbound Unicode Translation Format (UTF) messages may cause infinite loops in
the conversion process, causing the message to be stuck indefinitely.

CAUSE
=====

The above symptom is caused by a typo in the code that calls the conversion
process for UTF messages.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server
version 5.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for
Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0. For information on obtaining the Service
Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the
spaces):

A fix to correct this problem has been included in Exchange Server version 5.5
and will be included in Exchange Server version 5.0 Service Pack 2.
