XFOR: ICS: SetMemberMode Is Not Available

SYMPTOMS

This article applies to Microsoft Chat Server. The SetMemberMode method is not available in the channel service API. This prevents channel service DLLs from changing the mode of members in their channels; for example, a monitor DLL that detects an unruly user cannot force the user to be a spectator.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet System version 1.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Microsoft Commercial Internet System version 1.0.
