MSHelp is an automated response system that you can use to retrieve any Microsoft Knowledge Base article or other Microsoft Technical Support packaged content via e-mail.

NOTE: To receive messages back from MSHelp, you must include a valid Article-ID, the single word "Index," or a valid packaged content ID in the subject line of your e-mail message.

You can use MSHelp by sending an e-mail message to mshelp@microsoft.com. In the subject line of your message, you can specify the content you want using any of the following choices.

Knowledge Base Article

You can have any article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base sent to you via e-mail. If you know the Article-ID number of the article that you want to receive, send an e-mail message to mshelp@microsoft.com. In the Subject line of your message, type the Article-ID number. For example, to receive article Q162721, your subject line should resemble the following example:
Subject: Q162721
You can have multiple articles sent to you in e-mail by typing multiple Article-ID numbers separated by a comma. For example:
Subject: Q162302, Q162304, Q162303
Note that your e-mail request is processed within minutes of receipt.

Index

To receive an index of Knowledge Base articles and packaged content that can help you use various Microsoft products, send an e-mail message to mshelp@microsoft.com. In the Subject line of the message, type Index as in the following example:
Subject: Index
The MSHelp Index is updated monthly.

Packaged Content

To obtain packaged content, use the six-digit identification number listed in the MSHelp Index. You can specify a single identification number or multiple identification numbers separated by commas, as in the following examples:
Subject: 999998
