PRJ98: Timephased BCWP May Be Incorrect in the Task Usage View

ID: q189813

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, in the Task Usage view, timephased BCWP (budgeted cost of work performed) may be calculated incorrectly.

NOTE: Task BCWP is still calculated correctly.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when all of the following conditions are true:

This problem occurs because timephased BCWP is not being incremented during the periods of non-default working time. Views or macros that are based on timephased BCWP (such as the Analyzed_Timescaled_Data macro and the timephased columns in the Task Usage view) will show incorrect values.

NOTE: Because calculation of task BCWP is not based on calculation of timephased BCWP, task BCWP will still be calculated correctly.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
