PRJ98: Error Assigning Resource to Fixed Duration TaskID: q190597

In Microsoft Project 98, when you assign a resource to a task, you may
receive the following message:
Message 1
Followed by one of the following messages (Message 2):Microsoft Project cannot create an assignment with a specific unit value on a fixed duration, effort-driven task.
Once the assignment is created, you can edit the unit value on the assignment.
If you click Details, you receive the following error:This Program has preformed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
WINPROJ caused an invalid page fault in module WINPROJ.EXE at <address>.
An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.

This behavior occurs when you have the following conditions:
To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows Service
Release 1 (SR-1).
NOTE: Message 1 in the Symptoms section is an expected message for the conditions listed in the Cause section, Message 2 is not expected and is resolved in Project 98 SR-1.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service
Release 1 (SR-1).
