PRJ98: VBA: Excess Memory Consumed When Running Macro

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, when you run a macro, memory usage by Microsoft Project may increase and not decrease until you restart Microsoft Project. This can also cause Microsoft Project to run slowly as more memory is consumed. In addition, you may also receive a message indicating you are low on available memory.


CAUSE

This behavior may occur when you run a macro that repetitively accesses properties of a task, resource, or assignment and values of the properties are stored internally as variants.


RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
